Hail Damage: Arizona and Nevada
28 April 2009
It is the time of year that you should be concerned about hail damage. There are a few states that are being affected by major storm cells right now. One of these storms is centered over several cities in Nevada and Arizona now. The tops of these storms are very high, so the likelihood of hail is very high. Even if there is no hail for this storm, there is a very real possibility of storm damage. It is the perfect time of the year for these types of storms. Roofing hail damage is something you need to be concerned about.
The storm cells have developed east of the major mountain systems to the west so you can expect some fireworks. The buildup of the cells is due to some warm and moist air from the south combined with cooler and dryer air to the north. The buildup was particularly fast which is an indication of the power of the storm. These types of storms are typical for this area, and especially for this time of the year. Hail damage is common with this type of storm because there is so much uplift in the cells. The real danger is if this cell does not move to the east. As of now, it appears that the row of cells is moving, but you will need to watch carefully for any signs of damage to your home.
