A third severe thunderstorm hit the Chicago area early this morning bringing  hail and high winds that was sure to cause hail storm damage across the area. This comes after two severe thunderstorms the night before. There was widespread damage reported across the area including Batavia where residents reported that there were gold ball sized hail stones reigning down.

The residents of these areas are always aware of the fact these thunderstorms can bring with them the kind of hail storm damage and roofing hail damage that can affect both property values and crops.  Along with the hail, as much as 2 inches of rain was reported in some areas and the entire storm warning lasted for the Chicago area into the rush-hour this morning.
